In April 2006 the Heritage Lottery fund awarded the Ipswich Hospital Band £772,000 to enable the refurbishment of St Peter’s Church Ipswich – one of the redundant Mariners Churches adjoining an area which is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment – and convert it to a centre for Music and the Arts.
On Saturday 24th May 2008 The Ipswich Hospital Band held the inaugural concert at the venue, this was compéred by Roger Fern, former mayor of Ipswich.
There is live music in St Peter’s every Wednesday lunchtime, which is free for visitors to listen to while exploring the centre, as well as the many concerts and events which happen throughout the year, performed by local, national and international groups.
The venue is available for hire for events and rehearsals. Please view our hiring information page for more details or contact the Centre Managers on 01473 225269 or by email email@example.com
