Ipswich Jazz Festival Workshop: Music photography - jazz in black and white

This event is part of ipswichjazzfestival.org.uk

Specialist music photographer John Watson leads a popular workshop aimed at all levels - from photography beginners to those with more advanced techniques.

This year, Watson will concentrate on creating dramatic black and white images, with advice on creating photographs of live performances and then processing them digitally in monochrome. There will then be a chance to practise by photographing a live band. Participants do not need to have professional equipment, but their cameras should be able to be set to at least 1600 ISO and they must be able to turn off any built-in flash.

John Watson contributes to many magazines in the UK and abroad. He has been nominated for photography three times in the New York-based JJA Jazz Awards. His work can be seen on his website: www.jazzcamera.co.uk

This workshop is limited to 20 people.
