Christmas is almost upon us, and the annual Ipswich Hospital Band Christmas concert is about to take place (tickets are still available) and St Peter's can now start looking forward to the New Year and the many events that are already booked to take place.
Our first event sees the return of Recorders Incorporated. A group of very talented recorder players from the around the country who will be entertaining us with music from the past and present, including work by Tallis, Zielensky, Staeps, Schnabel and Shannon.
The Recorders Incorporated Concert is on Monday 4th January 2010 and starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are, as always, available from the Centre Manager, and cost £9.00 (£7.00 for concessions)
Swiftly following on from this, from the 8th to the 10th of January 2010, there will be an exhibition celebrating Edith Maud Cook, the first British female pilot. Edith was born in Ipswich on the 1st September 1878 and the exhibition details the story of her life, and was researched and compiled by the Suffolk Aviation Heritage Group.
Admission is £1 on the door, and the exhibition is open between 10:00am and 4:00pm on the three days. All proceeds will be donated to the Edith Cook Memorial Fund
There are many other events coming up over the coming months so please be sure to check out our events page regularly.
But for now, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
